Anuvasana literally means 'to remain inside the body for some time causing no adverse effects' and also 'one that is given after food' or 'given every day'. Medicated oil or fats are used for this type of vasthi. It can be done immediately after lunch. Dosage 1/4th that of niruha vasthi (Decoction Enema). For retention of medicine and rapid spread, patient is manipulated immediately after the process. Evacuation time is longer than of niruha. It has fewer complications.
