SPS is a special method of administration of Njavara type of rice cooked in milk and Bala decoction, later tied as boluses in muscling cloth. It is a type of Mrdu Snigdha Pinda Sweda. It is atypical swedana with cold potency (seetavirya) and nourishing (balya) drugs, and to the effect, tissue replenishment (brmhana). This soft heating and massaging facilitate the nutrition from within, without injuring the tissues.
